Mercy Ships’ mission is to provide hope and healing to the world’s 

free life-changing surgeries and medical training to under-served 

communities embracing the model of Jesus to serve humanity, primarily in Africa.

 

Enlarged facial tumors, severe cataracts, distorted bone structures, etc. are far too many maladies bestowed upon far too many children in West Africa, resulting in harsh bulling, violence, unimaginable abuse, as well as discrimination that normal children rarely, if at all, experience.

 

So, yes, I donate to Mercy Ships on behalf of myself and granddaughter, Azyana Thurston, who inspired the book: “Shumalady and the Hand that Decided Long Ago Not to Grow.”
